Little Haiti Neighborhood
A neighborhood is where life happens. It is where children learn routines, elders feel safe, and families build new memories. In the Little Haiti Neighborhood model, Little Haiti Global creates Haitian-rooted communities designed to support a fresh start through housing, education, healthcare, and well-being.
What does a Little Haiti Neighborhood means?
A Little Haiti Neighborhood, in the Little Haiti Global model, is a Haitian-rooted community built to support a stable first year through housing, education, healthcare, and well-being. It is designed for people who want to relocate, retire, or reset with cultural belonging and practical support that makes daily life easier.
What makes a Haitian-rooted neighborhood different
Many people can relocate, but still feel alone. A Haitian-rooted neighborhood is built around connection. It supports language learning, trusted guidance, and community routines that help people settle faster and build confidence.
The four pillars inside the neighborhood model
Housing and infrastructure
Participants receive one year of housing with electricity and running water. This creates stability in the first year, when uncertainty can feel highest.
Education and training
Participants complete one year of ESOL if needed. English-proficient participants may complete up to six months of online vocational or trade-based training. Optional local language instruction may also be available.
Healthcare navigation
Participants receive one year of basic health insurance excluding dental. Support is provided to help navigate care. Optional extended plans may be available for purchase.
Well-being and community care
Counseling, mentoring, trauma support, and peer mentorship are available to those who choose to engage. Community connection strengthens mental health and helps people rebuild.
